Weekly Preview for the Week of October 11th - 15th

 

Hello POD 6.4 Parents! For Good of the Cause: 1.  Early People Outdoor Experience and Volunteer Opportunity -  Sunday afternoon, an email was sent out by Mr. Donahue in regards to our Activity taking place on Thursday 10/21 and Friday 10/22.  If you are interested in volunteering, please click here to access our Sign-Up Genius. 2.  Move-A-Thon:  At this point students should have registered for their Move-A-Thon activity to complete on October 28th!  Kids can start getting pledges from friends and family trough the month of October.  This is our school's only fundraiser, and proceeds will go towards playground improvements as well as classroom items!  All of the information regarding the Move-A-Thon can be found on the McKelvie website. ACTION ITEM:  Registration for the activity that students will be participating in during the Move-A-Thon is required.  The "MAT 2021 Student Activity Registration Form" is open and accepting registrations.  Please click HERE to access the registration link or you can go to the McKelvie website and all information is located on the "Move-A-Thon" tab. Language Arts:  Students will finish their Realistic Fiction Narratives in class this week.  There is no assessment scheduled at this time. Science:  Students will explore Newton's Three Laws of Motion this week.  There is no assessment scheduled at this time. Math Class:  Students will continue to work in Unit 2.1 - 2.3.  We will continue with Dividing Fractions and Mixed Numbers.  There is no assessment scheduled at this time, but the 2.1 - 2.3 Unit Quiz will be early next week.  Math Excel Class:  Students will wrap up their Planning a Party Project this week by completing Phase 3.  Students have Phases 1 and 2 due on Wednesday so checking in with them to make sure they have submitted their work in Google Classroom would be encouraged.  With the time remaining, we will begin Unit 2.4 - 2.6 on Decimal Operations.  There is no assessment scheduled at this time, but the 2.4 - 2.6 Unit Quiz will be early next week. Donahue Social Studies - Students will continue to explore our Early People Unit this week in class.  In this Unit, we will explore the essential question of "how did people begin living together in an organized society?"  There is no assessment scheduled at this time.  Oliveira Social Studies - Ditto to Donahue Ouellette Social Studies - Ditto to Donahue Have a wonderful start to your week!
