Weekly Preview for the Week of October 4th - 8th

  Hello POD 6.4 Parents! For Good of the Cause: 1.   Move-A-Thon T-Shirt Order: McKelvie students will be participating in the annual  Move-A-Thon  fundraiser on October 28th.  As part of the Move-A-Thon event, official t-shirts are available for purchase.  Click   HERE   for the t-shirt order form (forms will also come home with students today).  Wearing a Move-A-Thon shirt is a great way to show school spirit and promote our event sponsors!   T-shirt orders are due back on or before Wednesday, October 6th! Weekly Preview for the Week of September 27th - October 1st

  Hello POD 6.4 Parents! For Good of the Cause: 1.  None for this week! Language Arts:  Students will be taking the Selection Test for Brown Girl Dreaming this week in class.  Students will also begin their first writing unit of the year, Narrative Writing. Science:  Students will work on their Forces in Motion Projects this week.  Projects are due on Thursday, September 30th.  Students will also be introduced to Inertia this week as well.  There is no assessment scheduled at this time. Math Class:  Students will wrap up Unit 1 by completing Lesson 1.6 Extension on Adding and Subtracting Fractions prior to reviewing for the 1.4 - 1.6 Unit Quiz which will take place on Friday, October 1st. Weekly Preview for the Week of September 20th - 24th

  Hello POD 6.4 Parents! For Good of the Cause: 1.  McKelvie Club Signups came out in an email from Mrs. Asdot's Principal's Note on Thursday.  Click here to view the note if you did not see the email.  There are lots of great clubs to sign up for over the course of this year! Language Arts:  Students will spend more time this week working with Brown Girl Dreaming  by  J acqueline Woodson.  Students will also continue our whole class read, Crash .  There is no assessment scheduled at this time. Weekly Preview for the Week of September 13th - 17th

  Hello POD 6.4 Parents! For Good of the Cause: 1. McKelvie School Picture Day is on Monday, September 13th. Please click  HERE  for the Geskus flyer to order school photos! Our POD goes first thing in the morning at 9:00am! Language Arts:  Students will be diving into their My Perspective curriculum by exploring excerpts from J acqueline Woodson's Memoir Brown Girl Dreaming .  In addition, the goal for all students is to be reading two independent novels a month.  Checking in with your student periodically is encouraged.  There is no assessment scheduled at this time. Science:  Students will explore Friction and Gravity next week through a variety of labs next week while still in their Forces in Motion Unit.  There will be a quiz towards the end of the week on Forces in Motion, Friction and Gravity.
